A Vision for a Stronger, Safer, and More Accountable Uvalde County

  • Fiscal responsibility is the foundation of good county government. As your County Judge, my first responsibility will be to ensure that every taxpayer dollar is spent wisely, efficiently, and transparently.

    Families and businesses must live within their budgets, and county government should do the same.

    As County Judge, I will:

    • Develop balanced, responsible county budgets.

    • Evaluate county spending to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.

    • Prioritize essential services while protecting taxpayers.

    • Aggressively pursue state and federal grants to reduce the burden on local taxpayers.

    • Hold public budget workshops so citizens understand how their tax dollars are spent.

    • Publish clear, easy-to-understand financial reports.

    • Promote long-term financial planning instead of short-term spending.

    My philosophy is simple: We must spend taxpayer dollars with the same care and discipline we use in our own homes and businesses.

  • Water is the lifeblood of Uvalde County. Our future depends on protecting this precious resource for our families, farms, ranches, businesses, and future generations.

    As County Judge, I will:

    • Establish a County Water Resource Task Force bringing together local water agencies, municipalities, and rural water providers.

    • Pursue state and federal funding for water infrastructure improvements.

    • Promote water conservation and public education.

    • Work with regional partners on long-term water planning.

    • Keep citizens informed about aquifer conditions and water availability.

    Protecting our water today protects our future tomorrow.

  • The safety of our families is one of the county's highest priorities.

    I will work closely with the Sheriff's Office, Emergency Management, EMS, volunteer fire departments, and first responders to ensure they have the resources necessary to protect our communities.

    My priorities include:

    • Strengthening emergency response capabilities.

    • Seeking grants for equipment, staffing, and training.

    • Improving disaster preparedness and emergency communication.

    • Supporting community emergency preparedness programs.

    Prepared communities save lives.

  • Access to quality healthcare is essential to a thriving community.

    I will support strong partnerships with Uvalde Memorial Hospital, Community Health Development, Inc. (CHDI), healthcare providers, and public health professionals.

    My goals include:

    • Supporting recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals.

    • Promoting rural healthcare initiatives.

    • Expanding access to mental health and substance abuse services.

    • Supporting public health programs, including nursing and environmental health services.

    • Promoting transparency and accountability in healthcare funding.

    Healthy families create stronger communities.

  • Good infrastructure improves public safety, supports economic growth, and enhances our quality of life.

    As County Judge, I will:

    • Develop and follow a long-term maintenance plan for county roads and bridges.

    • Pursue broadband expansion throughout rural Uvalde County.

    • Seek infrastructure grants that reduce local tax burdens.

    • Support responsible economic development.

    • Work with local businesses, chambers of commerce, and community organizations to create new opportunities.

    • Advocate for recreational investments, including improved facilities and a sports complex for our youth.

    Investing wisely today prepares Uvalde County for tomorrow.

  • The government works best when citizens are informed and involved.

    As your County Judge, I will make county government more open, transparent, and accessible.

    I will:

    • Hold regular town hall meetings throughout the county.

    • Improve communication with citizens.

    • Explore moving Commissioners Court meetings to evening hours so more working families can participate.

    • Publish understandable reports on county finances, projects, and major decisions.

    • Encourage public participation in county planning.

    Transparency creates accountability. Accountability builds trust.

  • The county government should operate efficiently while providing excellent service to every citizen.

    Drawing upon my experience managing both public offices and private businesses, I will work to modernize county operations.

    My priorities include:

    • Improving technology throughout county government.

    • Creating and Supporting the following;   Human Resources, Risk Management, Information Technology, and Purchasing.

    • Encouraging collaboration between county departments.

    • Investing in systems that improve efficiency and customer service.

    • Ensuring county employees have the tools and training necessary to serve the public effectively.

    Efficient government saves money and serves citizens better.

  • The County Judge serves an important judicial role, and every citizen deserves a court system that is fair, efficient, and accessible.

    I will:

    • Ensure court cases move efficiently without unnecessary delays.

    • Support technology that improves court operations.

    • Work closely with county offices to improve coordination.

    • Ensure equal access to justice for all residents.

    • Uphold the highest standards of ethics, fairness, and impartiality.

    • Educate the public about the role of the County Court and engage community leaders in improving our justice system.

    Justice must always be fair, accessible, and worthy of the public's trust.

Uvalde County deserves leadership that is honest, experienced, and committed to serving the people, not politics. As your County Judge, I will bring together the experience of a judge, the discipline of a businessman, and a servant's heart to lead our county with integrity, transparency, and fiscal responsibility.

County government should work for the people. It should protect taxpayer dollars, provide essential services efficiently, prepare for future challenges, and create opportunities for every family in Uvalde County.
